Again a busy lacrosse weekend is waiting for us. After the snow has left Belgium and the sun is waiting to get the final permission to enter the Belgian sky it seems we will get a good lacrosse weekend.
On Saturday Ghent lacrosse will travel towards Rijmenam for meeting Red Rhinos lacrosse. These two clubs are the oldest ones in Belgium and their games are always fun to see. At 11h00 the women’s game will be played and at 14h00 the men’s will start the classic in Belgian Lacrosse. We are curious to find out whether the Rhino Ladies can continue winning and defeat the Gazelles for the 3rd time in a row. Biggest question for us though “how will the Red Rhinos (men team) react on their loss against the Brewers two weeks ago?”. The Goblins so far didn’t manage to defeat the Rhinos but came already close last year. If you are interested to watch these games the Red Rhinos will welcome you at their fields (Mechelsbroekstraat in Bonheiden) from 10h30.
Also on Saturday the two teams without a win will face each other. At 14h00 in Halle the Gators will try to get their first win in the league against the Hunting Armadillos. Both teams are eager to leave the last place in the ranking and giving their fans the first victory of the season.
On Sunday the BLF host the first try out for the National Team which will compete at the World Championship Lacrosse in Denver 2014. This try out is open for all Belgians and is free of charge. Interested lacrosse players are welcome at the ISB campus (Kattenberg, Watermaal-Bosvoorde) from 14h00 – 18h00.
